Synopsis

Ryouma Echizen, a tennis prodigy, has just returned to Japan from America at his father's urging. Now a freshman at Seishun Academy—one of the country's top middle school tennis programs—he's determined to become Japan's best player. When the team captain notices his talent, Ryouma finds himself competing for a starting spot in the ranking matches right away. His teammates are skeptical about having a freshman on the roster at first, but his raw skill and drive eventually win them over. With Ryouma as their secret weapon, Seishun makes a run at the National Tournament. They'll need to survive the Tokyo Prefectural and Kanto Regional competitions first, though, and the competition is fierce. Every school they face has its own playing style and motivations. If Ryouma and his teammates want to reach the top, they'll have to learn to work together.
