Four years from now, the world's gone wrong. Thousands of kilometers of forest have disappeared, turning the land into an endless desert and forcing humans to abandon their homes. They've got nowhere else to go but Meshichi—a world where they can live alongside the Anbots. That's where Sanzou and Gokyuu's paths cross, seemingly by chance. What starts as a chance meeting becomes a journey together. Sanzou's a mysterious young guy with a lot of secrets. Gokyuu is basically the strongest Anbot around, though he's also kind of a disaster. Then there's Tongoh, a drinking Anbot; Jou, who's a mechanical genius; Suuji, a female Anbot thief; and Mioto. Together, this unlikely crew heads east toward the legendary land where the sun rises.
