A year's passed since the whole Gridman situation went down. The world's moved on, and basically everyone's forgotten about the kaiju, Gridman, and Akane—except Rikka and Utsumi, who remember everything. Even Yuuta's lost his memories, which sucks considering he was literally Gridman's host. So when a new kaiju shows up, he jumps at the chance to merge with Gridman again and prove he can be a hero, even if he can't remember being one before.
