Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere
Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon
Humanity fled a dying Earth for space, but something blocked their way back out. When they finally returned to Earth, they discovered it was basically uninhabitable—except for Japan. To fit everyone, pocket dimensions were created around the country. The plan was to recreate human history by the book—literally, using the Testament as a guide—hoping it would somehow let them escape into space again. That worked for a while. Then in 1413 of the Testament Era, the nations living in those pocket dimensions invaded and conquered Japan itself, carving it up into feudal territories and forcing the original Japanese population out. Now it's 1648. The displaced Japanese live aboard Musashi, a massive city-ship that never stops moving, constantly monitored by the Testament Union—the organization running this whole historical reenactment. Things get weird when the Testament suddenly stops updating, giving no guidance past 1648. Rumors of apocalypse and war start circulating. Toori Aoi, the charismatic president of Musashi Ariadust Academy's student council, sees the opening. He and his classmates decide this is their shot to take back what was lost.
