A thousand years ago, natural disasters nearly wiped out all life on the planet Zi. Humanity eventually clawed its way back, slowly rebuilding civilization by salvaging ancient Zoids from the ocean floor and ruins. In one remote village, the most valuable thing they own is a massive sword they treat as a sacred relic. Then a teenage boy stumbles upon an ancient Liger-type Zoid during a deep-sea salvage mission. Before he can even process what he's found, skeletal Bio-Zoids attack the village, hunting for a powerful generator hidden there. The boy manages to awaken the Liger, and discovers something incredible—the village's holy sword is actually the Zoid's weapon. Together they drive back the mysterious attackers. But it's clear this is just the beginning of something much bigger.
