By the mid-21st century, space exploration is in full swing, and Planet Catcher Corporation has cornered the market on asteroid mining—literally capturing asteroids and comets to strip them for resources. On one such asteroid called Tortatis lives Nanbu Ushiwaka, a 12-year-old kid who's the only person ever born and raised in space. Things go downhill fast when a military satellite screws up an operation to capture Halley's Comet, triggering a disaster that strands Ushiwaka and the other colonists on Tortatis. To make matters worse, both their home country and the company abandon them. Now they're in a race against time to escape before the asteroid's nuclear reactor melts down—assuming they can escape at all.
