Synopsis

Manie-Manie: Meikyuu Monogatari is a three-part anthology film featuring work from three major directors: Rintaro, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, and Katsuhiro Otomo. Labyrinth Labyrinthos Sachi's searching for her cat Cicerone when both of them tumble through a mirror into a twisted, reality-bending labyrinth. They end up following a clown's shadow deeper into the maze, with no idea where it leads. Running Man Reporter Bob Stone is working on a story about Zack Hugh, a racer who's dominated an extremely popular—and extremely deadly—automobile race for ten straight years. By the time they meet, Zack's pretty much burned out, both physically and mentally. As the next race kicks off, Bob watches what happens when man and machine get pushed past their limits, and what it really costs to stay on top. The Order to Stop Construction When a construction foreman vanishes under mysterious circumstances, salaryman Tsutomo Sugioka gets sent into a dangerous jungle to shut down the project. What he finds there is a world spiraling out of control—one run entirely by automated construction robots. When the lead robot refuses to take orders, Tsutomo has to find another way to stop the operation before his company bleeds too much money.
