Synopsis

Japan's table tennis world just got shaken up. An underdog squad took down Oudou Academy's legendary nine-year winning streak, and suddenly everyone's thinking: maybe we can make nationals too. Suzumegahara Middle School's team isn't exactly a powerhouse. There's Hanabi Tenka with her aggressive attacking style, Hokuto Itsumo who can read where the ball's going, Agari Kamiya and her devastating backhand smash, vice-captain Mune Oomune who plays hard and fast, and captain Kiruka Ushirode, basically a wall on defense. They're good players—really good—but they've never gotten past the city tournaments. Then transfer student Koyori Tsumujikaze shows up and changes everything. She's obsessed with ping pong in the best way possible, immediately proving herself as a legitimate top-tier player. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and it lights something up in the rest of the team. Suddenly they all want it badly enough to aim for nationals.
