Yuuji Yugami is the best player on his high school baseball team, but nobody likes him. He's a total loner—by choice. When new student Chihiro Watanuki transfers in, Yugami makes it pretty clear that he's not interested in friendship. Chihiro, though, is the opposite. She wants friends and wants them fast. At first, Yugami's whole mysterious thing throws her off, but then he does something surprisingly kind for her, and she starts wondering if there's more to him than the antisocial act.
