Hiroshi Shiba is a talented race car driver whose father gets killed when he uncovers an ancient Bronze Bell. Queen Himika, who's from the long-dead Yamatai Kingdom, wants the Bell badly—she plans to use it to take over the world. His father leaves behind some mysterious items that let Hiroshi transform into a giant mecha robot called Steel Jeeg. With his father's brain running a computer to guide him and help from a girl named Micchi Uzuki, Hiroshi takes on Himika and her plans for global conquest.
