The story kicks off on Pirate Zap's ship, where two crew members, Bonnie and Max, are fed up and desperate to escape—but they're broke. Three kids being held prisoner overhear their conversation. The oldest, Amanda, knows where her father hid a legendary treasure. She strikes a deal: help them get away, and they can have whatever treasure they want. They make their escape to a small island, where they run into Luffy and his crew. But they don't stay hidden for long—Luffy and Amanda get caught and dragged back to the Bayan Pirates' leader, who's also hunting for the treasure. Now Luffy and the others have to fight off the Bayan Pirates and track down the treasure Amanda's father left behind. Through it all, Amanda has a change of heart. She's always resented adventure and treasure hunting because her father was never around, but finally grasps why it mattered so much to him.
