Synopsis

One summer day, a boy hears bells ringing in the mountains near his home—like something's being celebrated. Years later, the mushishi Ginko shows up in those same mountains and finds a strange girl with weeds sprouting from her body. On his way down the mountain, Ginko runs into the now-grown boy from before, Yoshiro, and they team up to figure out who the girl is and what's actually going on with her. This is an adaptation of the manga's final arc. Ginko finds himself on a weird investigation into the supernatural world, trying to solve the mystery of a girl named Kaya and why the mountain has become her home.
