Synopsis

Yukino Miyazawa is the perfect girl—or at least that's what everyone thinks. As her class representative and the most popular freshman around, she excels at everything: grades, sports, you name it. But here's the catch: it's all an act. Behind closed doors, she's vain and obsessive, constantly grinding to maintain her flawless image because being admired is basically her whole life. So when Souichirou Arima shows up as the male class rep and somehow manages to outshine her at literally everything, she loses it. She's been trying to one-up him since day one. That changes during midterms when Yukino finally scores higher than him. Instead of gloating in private like she'd hoped, Souichirou just. congratulates her. It throws her off completely and makes her actually question whether this whole fake persona thing is worth it. Then he confesses to her. She shoots him down and goes home feeling weirdly empty about it. But the next day he shows up at her house unannounced, catches her completely off-guard acting like her real self, and decides to blackmail her into doing his student council work for him. Forced to spend time together, Yukino discovers something important: she's not the only one hiding who she really is.
