Synopsis

Tadayasu Sawaki is a college freshman with a pretty unusual gift—he can see microorganisms with his naked eye. Not just imagine them, actually see them. All kinds of microbes show up to him as adorable little chibi characters, whether it's the fungus behind athlete's foot or the yeast that ferments alcohol. He enrolls at an agricultural university in Tokyo, which naturally catches the attention of several professors, especially one named Itsuki who focuses on fermentation. At first, Sawaki's not particularly impressed with his own ability and treats it as just another thing about himself. But once he gets settled into university life, the weird and wonderful people around him—both teachers and fellow students—start rubbing off on him. Gradually, he begins to actually appreciate what he can do and take pride in his talent. The cast is eccentric enough that Sawaki almost seems like the normal one by comparison.
