Synopsis

Retsuko's still grinding away at her office job, blowing off steam with death metal karaoke whenever things get too much. Now that she's got friends like Gori and Washimi in her corner, work feels less suffocating. But things are about to get complicated. A new coworker named Anai joins the company and seems promising at first, but when Retsuko gets stuck training him, she realizes he might be more of a problem than an asset. Meanwhile, her mom shows up unannounced with one goal in mind: getting Retsuko married off. Before long, her mother's arranging blind dates left and right, and Retsuko's having none of it. The karaoke bar gets a lot more use after that. But screaming into a mic can only do so much, and Retsuko knows she needs to actually deal with her problems instead of just venting about them. So she makes some impulsive decisions to dodge her issues—which, surprisingly, turns into a chance for real self-discovery. Through it all, death metal karaoke remains her outlet as she figures out what she actually wants from life and love.
