Young angels are supposed to live among humans for a few centuries to earn their wings—it's basically angel school. Gabriel White Tenma was supposed to be a model student, genuinely passionate about bringing happiness to mankind. Instead, she discovered video games, became completely obsessed, and turned into a full-blown shut-in who now calls herself a "Fallen Angel" and refuses to care about anything else. Her friend Vignette, a demon she actually got along with before Gabriel's descent into gaming, keeps trying to snap her out of it. Spoiler alert: it doesn't work. Gabriel just shuts down every intervention attempt. While dealing with Gabriel's hopelessness, Vignette and Gabriel end up hanging out with two other weirdos: Raphiel, an angel from their class who gets way too much joy out of messing with people, and Satanichia, a demon who's clumsy, useless, and somehow convinced she's destined to rule Hell. The series basically follows these four friends bumbling through life, all of them spectacularly failing at the whole "being a demon" or "being an angel" thing.
