Synopsis

Since his wife passed away, Kouhei Inuzuka has been doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi on his own. But between his job as a teacher and having no real cooking skills, he's basically been feeding her convenience store meals. Frustrated with himself, he accepts an invitation from Kotori Iida, one of his students, to come eat at her family's restaurant. When they show up though, they find out the place is closed most of the time because Kotori's mom is always away for work—and Kotori's been eating alone a lot. Moved by the girl's situation, Kouhei decides to keep visiting. He starts cooking real meals there, sharing them with both Tsumugi and Kotori. What unfolds is a touching story about a single dad trying to give his daughter a better life, while discovering what really matters about cooking, family, and the simple comfort of a homemade meal.
