A decade ago, the Zol Empire conquered Aquafa and absorbed it into their territory. The takeover went smoothly enough, except for one place: Fire Horse Village held out against the invasion. That's also where Black Wolf Fever first appeared—a disease so devastating that people thought it had died out completely after that. Van Gansa is a prisoner of war working in a salt mine under Zol control when everything changes. One night, a pack of supernatural wolves attacks the facility. Van and a young girl named Yuna are both bitten, but somehow they're the only ones who make it out alive. When investigators look into what happened, they realize the wolves were infected with Black Wolf Fever. The disease killed everyone else at the mine almost immediately. Desperate to leave his past behind, Van settles down with Yuna in a quiet farming village. What he doesn't realize is that people are watching him. There are those hunting him to harvest his blood as a cure for Black Wolf Fever, and others determined to stop them. Either way, Van's caught in the middle of something much bigger—a crisis that could spread across the entire nation and beyond.
