Eiji scouts Kai and brings him into AESES, ASHURUM's elite special forces unit, where he goes through brutal training. Whenever he gets a chance, Kai visits Hikaru in the organization's hospital, but her condition never improves no matter what. After a year of intense training and significant growth, Kai decides he's had enough and escapes from ASHURUM.
