Kongo is a stone monkey brought to life by magic, born from the fires of space. Desperate to become great, he abandons his family on Flower Fruit Mountain to seek out ancient knowledge and master the arcane arts. His first major breakthrough comes when he learns to control the Jet Cloud, a magical weapon that lets him command the skies. When Kongo returns home, he finds humans encroaching on the monkeys' territory. Using his new powers, he drives them out and declares himself King of Flower Fruit Mountain. But the gods in the Celestial Heavens don't take kindly to a monkey overthrowing humans and ruling in their place. They see it as a threat that needs to be crushed, so they decide to attack Kongo and his entire kingdom as punishment.
