Kaori Sasaki, a member of Uchihama Academy's Astronomy Club, confesses her feelings to Sou Akiyama. That same night, she's hit by a car and killed. Her friends gather at the hospital to grieve—but the next morning, she walks into school like nothing happened. No one suspects a thing. The day goes on normally until the group starts planning for the upcoming cultural festival. Then an earthquake hits—a weird one that feels off somehow. Everyone rushes out to investigate, except Nagisa Hanamiya, who stays behind. She notices the strange cube-shaped object she'd been playing with suddenly glowing an eerie blue. Meanwhile, Sou discovers an unconscious, naked girl lying in a pool of water. From there, things only get stranger.
