Synopsis

Mikoto Misaka and her friends are investigating strange rumors around Academy City when she stumbles onto something horrifying: thousands of espers are being systematically murdered in illegal experiments. The victims aren't random—they're clones of Mikoto herself. Wracked with guilt over her involvement, she throws herself into stopping the experiments, only to realize the opposition is far more powerful than she bargained for. She's up against some of the strongest espers in the city. As Railgun S unfolds, Mikoto desperately fights to shut down the inhumane experiments she feels responsible for triggering, and the struggle drags her into a dark spiral. Life in Academy City is never boring, but that doesn't mean it's always good.
