Synopsis

The war between the Royal Empire and the Republic of Frost ended three years ago, leaving both sides struggling to rebuild. Alice L. Malvin, a determined young woman, commands the Pumpkin Scissors—an imperial military unit dedicated to relief efforts in war-torn areas. While helping a village deal with occupying renegade soldiers, Alice encounters Randal Oland, a scarred ex-soldier with a troubled background but a genuinely good heart. Impressed by the Pumpkin Scissors' work, he agrees to help with their mission. Things get weird fast, though. During the fighting, Randal gets triggered by some kind of blue lantern and goes into a trance, transforming into something almost inhuman and brutally overpowering the enemy. Alice saw the whole disturbing thing unfold, but she's not deterred. She believes Randal's basically a good person and invites him to officially join the unit, convinced his true nature will shine through and make him valuable to the team.
