Midori Saejima's got a genuinely sunny personality, so her classmates at Hijiri Academy have nicknamed her "Angel"—and before long, she's running for student council. Her debate speech is going great until she literally trips walking offstage and flashes the entire school. Mortifying, right? But then Akira Sudou, another council candidate, jumps in to help her out. He's the guy Midori's had a crush on for a while now, mostly because despite his scary appearance, she's seen how genuinely kind he is underneath. The two both end up getting elected, and they start throwing themselves into planning the school festival. As they work together, Midori's feelings for Akira only get stronger and she keeps trying to get closer to him. Problem is, something from his past is keeping him from letting her all the way in.
