In a dystopian future where children are rare and treated as Japan's greatest treasures, Christmas has faded into myth. At Daikoku Welfare Academy, a boarding school that educates and monitors its students, Santa Claus is nothing but a fairy tale. For adults, though, he's a genuine threat—serious enough that the government maintains an entire Saint Nick Pursuit Unit to take him down if he ever shows up. Shiori Fuyumura, a student at the academy, is obsessed with finding her best friend Ichie Ono, who was declared dead after disappearing six months ago. When she corners her classmate and fellow class rep Kazushige Sanda one morning, she attacks him without warning. Fuyumura is convinced he's a descendant of the legendary Santa Claus—and more importantly, the only person who can help her find Ono. Determined to unlock his "true self," she'll stop at nothing to force it out of him.
