It's 2058 on Clayad, the third planet in the Ypserlon system about 43 light years from Earth. When aliens suddenly attack, the planet's residents scramble to evacuate. In the chaos, a group of children gets separated from their parents and ends up boarding the training ship Janous. After a rough journey with some heavy losses, they finally reach Belwick, the fourth planet—only to find it's caught in a war. So thirteen kids are left to fend for themselves and make the long journey to Earth alone.
