Long ago, the Kingdom of the Vale was thriving until the king's two sons went to war. They each commanded a Legendary Pokémon—Reshiram and Zekrom—and their battle destabilized the Dragon Force, an energy source that powered the entire kingdom. With Victini's help, peace was restored and the Dragon Force was sealed away by the Sword of the Vale. The catch: if anyone ever pulls the sword free, disaster strikes again. Now, Damon—a descendant of the scattered People of the Vale—wants to rebuild his ancestors' kingdom. His plan is to summon Zekrom and use it to lift the Sword of the Vale so he can tap into the Dragon Force's power for himself. When Ash and his friends arrive in Eindoak Town, which sits right at the base of the sword, they run into Damon's scheme. Realizing what's at stake, they team up with Victini to stop him before history repeats itself.
