Synopsis

This show is based on a classic NHK puppet series that ran from 1959 to 1964. The original was brought back as a nostalgia play for parents who grew up watching it. Nutsberry Town is a picturesque country village surrounded by sparkling lakes, thick forests, and rolling fields—the kind of place where old-fashioned values still matter. Three troublemakers live there: Snappy the Onion, Wendy the Walnut, and Pee Wee the Peanut, a goofy trio known as the "Kooky Kids." The Kooky Kids aren't mean-spirited, but they're always finding ways to get into trouble while chasing fun and adventure. Without video arcades, shopping malls, or theme parks nearby, they make their own entertainment using what the beautiful town offers them and their imaginations.
