A thousand years after a nuclear apocalypse called the Seven Days of Fire nearly wiped out all life on Earth, humanity survives in a world dominated by a massive, toxic jungle. The jungle evolved in response to human destruction and now spreads relentlessly across the planet, thick with poisonous spores and giant insects that threaten what's left of civilization. One safe haven exists: the Valley of the Wind, a peaceful farming community protected by its coastal location from the jungle's deadly toxins. When a Tolmekian airship crashes in the Valley, the princess Nausicaä and her people discover something alarming in the wreckage—a strange, pulsing object. The crash turns out to be no accident. The Tolmekian military invades, hunting for the artifact so they can resurrect a weapon from the Seven Days of Fire. Caught between two catastrophes, Nausicaä has to stop the Tolmekians from triggering another apocalypse while defending her home from the advancing jungle and everything it brings with it.
