Nezha Conquers The Dragon King
Nezha Nao Hai
The film adapts a story from Chinese mythology—specifically the classic novel Fengshen Bang—about the warrior deity Nezha. After his mother carries him for three and a half years, Nezha is born from a lotus flower and immediately arrives fully grown, able to walk and talk. He becomes a student of the immortal master Taiyi Zhenren. The Four Dragon Kings, bored with peace, have turned cruel and destructive. They plague the land with devastating storms and drought, ignoring the people's pleas for rain. The East Sea Dragon King Ao Guang orders his servant Ye Sha to capture children to eat. When Ye Sha takes one of Nezha's friends, Nezha tracks him down and nearly kills him. Ao Guang then sends his third son Ao Bing to retaliate, but Nezha kills him too, enraging the Dragon King. As the conflict escalates, Ao Guang and his fellow Dragon Kings unleash increasingly devastating natural disasters on the land. Unable to stop them, Nezha returns his father's sword and says goodbye to his parents before taking his own life. His master resurrects him from another lotus flower, this time granting him new weapons and powers. Nezha then storms Ao Guang's underwater palace and finally defeats the Dragon Kings once and for all.
