Synopsis

Takashi Natsume used to think his ability to see youkai was just a curse. But he's grown up since then. Now in high school, he's come to terms with it and built genuine friendships with both humans and spirits—including his bodyguard Madara, who goes by "Nyanko-sensei." The real focus of his life is the Book of Friends, a keepsake from his grandmother Reiko that contains the names of youkai he's bound to. Natsume spends a lot of his time tracking down these spirits to return their names. As he keeps meeting new and stranger youkai, he realizes there's still way more he doesn't understand about the world.
