Synopsis

Michi Sonoda, cheerful and carefree, tells her judo teammate Sanae Takigawa that she's done with the sport after one last middle school tournament. Sanae can't believe it—she only got into judo because of Michi's enthusiasm in the first place. Michi's reasoning is pretty straightforward: she'd rather spend her youth doing normal teenage stuff like dating instead of wrestling around on sweaty mats. But things don't go according to plan. Michi gets badly beaten by Towa Hiura, a seriously talented judoka, in what turns out to be a humiliating loss. Then it gets worse: Towa ends up enrolling at the same high school as both Michi and Sanae. With her rival suddenly back in her life, Michi might discover that she's not actually done with judo after all.
