Synopsis

Suzume Iwato stumbles across Souta Munakata one day on her way to school. He's looking for abandoned places, and curious, Suzume decides to tag along when she points him toward a nearby ruin. At the site, she finds a strange isolated door leading to some kind of dreamlike world—visible but unreachable. There's a weird stone on the ground that turns out to be a cat-like creature. Startled, Suzume bolts back to school without thinking twice about leaving the door wide open. That was a mistake. The stone she disturbed was actually a keystone keeping something dangerous sealed away. With it gone and the door open, evil starts leaking out into Japan. Now Suzume has to team up with Souta—who's apparently been trying to prevent exactly this—to track down and seal every open door before the country gets completely overrun.
