Synopsis

Hiroshi throws out his back and gets taken by a mysterious girl to an upscale salon for a free massage and beauty treatment. When he gets home, he's shocked to find he's been turned into a robot. Shinnosuke thinks it's awesome—Misae, less so, especially since he's naked. But robot Hiroshi turns out to be pretty handy. He can be remote-controlled and handles all the cooking and cleaning without complaint. It doesn't take long for Hiroshi to figure out the salon's behind this whole thing. Turns out it's part of a conspiracy by an organization called the Association of Fathers, which transformed him and other dads across Japan into powerful robot fathers. The plan backfires spectacularly—suddenly all these robot dads start going haywire, and families everywhere start falling apart. The Nohara household and the whole Kasukabe neighborhood are on the brink of chaos. With everything falling apart, Shinnosuke and robot Hiroshi team up to save the day. The movie climaxes with an intense battle between out-of-control middle-aged men, but ultimately delivers an emotional story about fathers and family that's supposed to hit hard with Japanese audiences.
