Synopsis

A mysterious being called the Alchemist has resurrected famous writers throughout history, trapping their souls in a vast library. There, they're forced to dive into books and cleanse them of creatures known as Taints. The catch? They also have to find and recruit other authors who've been pulled into their own stories. The writers get powerful new forms for this work, though how much of their old selves they retain varies wildly. Some remember who they were and what they wrote; others are basically starting from scratch. There's no clear endpoint to any of this, but they keep pushing forward anyway—partly out of obligation, partly because they're hoping to finally understand why they were brought back and get answers to the questions that plagued them in life.
