Synopsis

Kei's just a quiet high school kid looking for some excitement after moving out on his own. When he discovers mahjong, he gets in way over his head—literally forced into a game with actual criminals. But he's got some natural talent, and he manages to beat them. Instead of taking the cash prize, he decides to help out Amina, a girl they'd kidnapped, and basically becomes her guardian. His cold, calculated playstyle catches the attention of Hideharu Seki, who starts feeding him into matches at various mahjong parlors against tougher opponents. Things go downhill fast when he faces off against a seasoned player named Doujima—Kei gets completely outmatched and barely avoids getting buried in debt. Now he's stuck in this dangerous world, and if he wants to keep Amina safe and protect the life he's building, he has to figure out how to outsmart these criminals and win every single game.
