Synopsis

Humanity won a brutal war against four overpowered races—angels, demons, the undead, and beast-men—thanks to their champion Sid, who took down each race's strongest fighter and locked their armies away in four pyramids. Now that Sid's just a legend, Kai Sakura Vento works as a pyramid monitor, keeping watch in case the sealed enemies ever break free. One day while hanging out with his friend Jeanne E. Anise, everything suddenly changes. The world gets "overwritten," and Kai ends up in an alternate reality where demons have nearly wiped out humanity, forcing survivors underground. Even worse, he's been erased from this world entirely—nobody remembers him, not even Jeanne, who now leads the local resistance. While exploring what's left of his old world, Kai stumbles across Rinne, a mysterious girl trapped inside one of the pyramids. When he frees her, he somehow inherits Sid's legendary sword, Codeholder. Now Kai teams up with both Rinne and an amnesiac Jeanne to liberate humanity from demon rule. But if he wants any shot at getting back to his original reality, he needs to figure out who or what rewrote the world in the first place.
