Synopsis

Chise Hatori, a 15-year-old girl with nowhere else to go, finds herself on the auction block. She's sold for five million pounds to a tall masked stranger—and honestly, at that point she doesn't care who buys her, as long as she has somewhere to belong. On the way there, she overhears robed figures muttering about how rare a find she is, something called a "Sleigh Beggy." Nobody really explains what that means, but it's clearly a big deal. The mysterious buyer turns out to be Elias Ainsworth, a magus who lives in a cottage deep in the English countryside. After some initial tension and a bit of magical teleportation, Chise arrives at his home surrounded by fairies and all manner of strange creatures. She's introduced as his apprentice—and apparently, his bride-to-be. And just like that, her new life begins.
