Synopsis

Ruka's spending her summer pretty much living at handball practice—anything to stay away from her alcoholic mom at home. But when she gets kicked off the team after an incident at practice, she's suddenly got nothing to do. She ends up hanging around the aquarium where her dad works, and that's where she meets Umi, a strange boy who was raised by dugongs and is basically being studied there because his body does weird things in water. The two hit it off immediately. Then Sora, Umi's brother, shows up—and he's got his own weird connection to the ocean too. With all three of them together, they start exploring this incredible underwater world and stumble onto something bigger: all the sea creatures everywhere are apparently preparing for some kind of festival, and it's a pretty big deal.
