Synopsis

A video blogger tries to manufacture fake cryptid videos for clicks, but everything goes sideways when his crew gets killed by an actual monster. Around the same time, students at a school are hunted by something that looks like a massive sandworm, and they have to fight just to survive. As creature attacks keep happening, researcher Sousuke Banba decides to get to the bottom of it. He's got basically one clue—the word "Kagewani"—so he starts investigating attack sites, trying to track down whatever these things are and stop them. But the deeper he digs, the more he realizes the threat is closer than he thought. A pharmaceutical company called Sarugaku starts interfering with his investigation, and it becomes clear they're connected to all of this somehow.
