Synopsis

Eighteen-year-old Tsukasa Mizugaki bombed his college entrance exams, but he manages to snag a job at Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation through some connections. SAI Corp builds Giftias—androids so lifelike you'd never know the difference. The catch? They only live about nine years and four months before their memories start degrading and they become dangerous. Tsukasa gets assigned to Terminal Service One, the division responsible for retrieving Giftias once they hit their expiration date. It's grim work, but necessary. Right away, he's paired with Isla, a Giftia who's somehow the best retrieval specialist on staff despite her small frame and gentle personality. She's a veteran at this job and knows it inside and out. The problem is obvious: Tsukasa starts catching feelings for Isla, and she doesn't have much time left. No matter how much you want something to last, it won't.
