The story follows Dongfang Yuechu and Tushan Honghong as it traces their romance from five centuries in the past. When Dongfang Yuechu stumbles into Tushan by accident as a young man, he ends up stuck there working as a servant. Fast forward several years, and he decides to leave in pursuit of a bigger goal: making Tushan Honghong's dream of humans and demons living together in peace a reality. He joins the Yi Qi Dao Alliance and eventually takes charge of it. But just as things start looking promising, trouble begins creeping in from the shadows.
