Synopsis

Ai Narata leaves her idol group JPX48 under messy circumstances—a scandal involving a male fan—and makes a hard decision: she's done with men for good. Looking for a fresh start that fits her new vow, she auditions for Kouka School of Musical and Theatrical Arts, an elite all-female institution famous for training the country's best stage actresses. Ai's got the skills and the motivation to get in, and she makes the cut for the hundredth-year class. Problem is, her cold personality doesn't win her any friends. Enter Sarasa Watanabe, the kind of person nobody else really gets along with either, but who decides Ai's worth befriending anyway. Sarasa's got a specific dream: she wants to be an otokoyaku, one of those actresses who specializes in playing male roles on stage. She's been chasing this since watching The Rose of Versailles at Kouka years ago—she wants to play Lady Oscar, full stop. Thing is, Sarasa has basically no social awareness, which creates constant tension with her classmates. She and Ai end up roomed together and stuck partnered in classes despite the friction. Surviving Kouka isn't just about talent, though. Jealousy, backstabbing, and the brutal side of theater all weigh heavy. The question is whether Sarasa and Ai have what it takes to make it to the top.
