Synopsis

When Duke Rugis Camellia leads a violent uprising in the capital, the Kingdom of Hortensia falls into chaos. The entire royal family is wiped out or vanishes without a trace. Knight Maurice Baudelaire barely makes it out alive, but his brother Fernando Albert doesn't—killed by a werewolf during the fighting. To honor Fernando's memory, Maurice seeks out his young son Alfred Ober and gives him his father's sword. The loss hits hard, but it also reminds Alfred of a promise he made to his father: to become a knight and protect the Albert Dominion. Maurice takes Alfred under his wing, training him in combat to help him keep that vow. Alfred's training partner is a mysterious kid named Marius Casterede—someone who's clearly older than he appears. Meanwhile, Pope Alexi Valdebron is pulling strings behind the scenes, ordering the search for the missing princess while crowning a new king, Charlot D'Hortensia. Hortensia Saga follows Alfred, Marius, and Maurice as they band together with old allies and new friends to rebuild their kingdom and fight back against the darkness.
