Synopsis

Rikuo Nura is half-youkai, half-human, and the heir to the Nura Clan—a sprawling family of youkai that he's grown up around. He genuinely cares about them, but he's also painfully aware that most humans find youkai terrifying. His classmates see them as monsters from scary stories, not the beings Rikuo knows them to be. So he makes a choice: he's going to live a normal human life and keep his youkai side under wraps. That plan falls apart pretty quickly. His youkai attendant Tsurara Oikawa attends school with him, which is already awkward. Then there's Yura Keikain, a young onmyouji, and his best friend Kiyotsugu, who's obsessed with youkai and is determined to prove they actually exist. And it gets worse—rival youkai and hostile entities keep showing up, putting the people Rikuo cares about in danger. If he wants to protect anyone, Rikuo realizes he can't keep running from who he is. He's the grandson of the legendary Nurarihyon, and he needs to embrace that. When night falls, he transforms into a youkai and steps into his role as the future leader of the Nura Clan.
