Synopsis

Masane and her young daughter Rihoko are constantly fleeing from child welfare authorities determined to separate them. Eventually they're caught, and Rihoko gets taken away. That same day, Masane encounters a dangerous shapeshifting weapon—and when it attacks her, a mysterious light erupts from her wrist. She transforms into something powerful and destroys the threat, but the incident puts her squarely in the crosshairs of multiple shadowy organizations. Turns out she's become the wielder of the Witchblade, the most powerful force any of these groups are after.
