Hajime Hinobori's always dreamed about what every card game fan dreams about—seeing the creatures from his deck actually come to life and fighting it out. Lucky for him, his parents are scientists, and they pull it off by creating an AR system that completely changes how Battle Spirits is played. Naturally, players from all over the world start showing up to test out this crazy new way to battle. Hajime's got his sights set on becoming champion in this new format, but he's got competition. There's Kimari Tatsumi, a dramatic diva who's impossible to deal with, and Tegamaru Tanashi, some arrogant kid genius who thinks he's already won. As Hajime works his way through the ranks and figures out who he is as a player, things never stay boring—these kids are all chasing the same dream, and nobody's giving up without a fight.
