Synopsis

Earth got pretty much destroyed in an interplanetary war early in the 21st century. With the planet basically uninhabitable, humanity scattered to other worlds hoping for better lives. The Deep Galactic Trade Organization, a totalitarian regime controlling much of the galaxy, decided music was evil and banned it everywhere. So naturally, a group called AKB0048—formed from the legacy of the original Earth-based AKB48—decided to fight back by performing illegal concerts across multiple planets. They train constantly to improve their craft while staying one step ahead of arrest, traveling from world to world to spread music and inspire people. It's basically a story about popstar rebels trying to save civilization through the power of song.
