Synopsis

Yuuta Hoshitani enrolls at the elite Ayanagi Academy chasing after a mysterious high school student who inspired him. The school's famous for churning out musical prodigies, but getting into the Musical Department requires winning a brutal competition. The gatekeepers are the Kao Council—third-year students who basically run the place and decide who gets in. Hoshitani's best shot is joining one of the Star Teams, which come with mentorship from a Council member. He catches the attention of Itsuki Ootori, the Kao Council's weirdest member, and suddenly finds himself on Team Ootori. His teammates are his roommate Tooru Nayuki, aspiring Kabuki actor Kakeru Tengenji, the reserved Shuu Kuga, and Kaito Tsukigami—whose older brother is an Ayanagi legend. The problem? Hoshitani's not naturally talented. His teammates all have their own issues to work through too. Competing against other Star Teams and the rest of the Kao Council, Team Ootori has to figure out what they're actually capable of as they work toward performing at the Ayanagi Festival.
