Subaru Mikazuki is a 23-year-old mystery novelist and self-proclaimed introvert who'd genuinely prefer staying home with a book over dealing with actual people. His shyness doesn't help matters. Things got even lonelier after his parents died in an accident years ago, leaving him completely on his own. Everything changes when he meets Haru, a scrappy grey and white cat hanging around his parents' grave. He brings her home on a whim, but there's a problem—he's never had to take care of anything or anyone before. Can he even handle a cat? Haru's thrilled at first. After surviving on the streets, having someone actually feed her is amazing. But she quickly realizes Subaru can barely take care of himself, let alone a pet. Still, they somehow make it work.
